Manila Jockey Club’s business efforts are currently, predominately focused upon delivering the Philippines’ only world-class horse racing experience at our San Lazaro Leisure Park in Carmona, Cavite, a mere 20 minute drive from the Philippines’ financial capital district of Makati.
The bulk of our revenues are derived from our horse race betting operations, through the over 250 Off Track Betting (“OTB”) stations that are owned and franchised around the country, as well as from bets placed at our Turf Club. Our secondary revenues are derived from our shares in the co-developments we have with Ayala Corporation in various condominium and office towers at the San Lazaro Business and Tourism Park township in Santa Cruz, Manila, and from the suburban Canyon Ranch development located at the San Lazaro Leisure Park in Carmona, Cavite, in partnership with Century Properties. Ancillary revenues are derived from our horse stabling rental operations as well as revenues from casino at the San Lazaro Leisure Park.
Going forward and looking to the future, strengthening our core business shall remain our focus, whilst also growing real estate revenues and expanding our other investments. Manila Jockey Club maintains a healthy bank of land in Carmona, Cavite and at the San Lazaro Business and Tourism Park in Santa Cruz, Manila. Plans are currently underway for a host of new development activities, and we look forward to making material announcements regarding these plans soon.
Another area for future revenue growth will eventually derive from our majority ownership of our listed subsidiary, MJC Investments Corporation. MJC Investments is presently engaged in the construction of the first true, five-star luxury hotel, entertainment and tourism hub to be built north of Manila’s Pasig river – in decades. This landmark project stands to establish MJC Investments as a credible participant in the Philippines’ growing tourism industry, and from whose future dividends Manila Jockey Club and its shareholders are certain to positively benefit from.
